Job Title: Senior Valuation Analyst

About Sage: Sage Forensic Accounting, Inc. is a litigation support services firm providing financial consulting and expert witness services in family law, commercial and business litigation, and other legal proceedings throughout the Western United States. Sage’s Valuation Department specializes in appraising complex, difficult-to-value assets, with a primary focus on closely held businesses in highly contested matters. Our work requires rigorous financial analysis, reasoned professional judgment, and the ability to develop well-supported valuation conclusions in matters where the underlying facts, assumptions, and financial interests are often disputed.

Position Overview and Candidate Attributes: Sage’s Valuation Department is seeking an experienced valuation professional to join its growing team. As a Senior Valuation Analyst, you will be responsible for producing valuation analyses, schedules, and reports, with support from other valuation analysts. You will communicate regularly with clients to identify and obtain the financial records, corporate documents, and other information necessary to complete each engagement. You will also work closely with multiple levels of management across the firm and have the opportunity to support various experts on a range of complex matters.

This role is best suited to a professional who takes pride in detailed, technically rigorous work. A successful Senior Valuation Analyst will enjoy developing carefully reasoned, well-supported expert reports, translating complex valuation concepts and analyses into clear conclusions, and producing work that can withstand intensive scrutiny in contested matters. Intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in financial and valuation theory are essential to success in this role.

Required Qualifications: Sage is seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in preparing business valuations.
  • ACPA, ASA, ABV, CFA, CFE, or other relevant professional credential, ormeaningful progress toward such a credential, is preferred. Candidates holdingboth a CPA license and a relevant valuation or financial credential willreceive stronger consideration.
  • Strong financial statement analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience directing or reviewing the work of junior valuation professionals
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to prepare valuation schedules.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and demonstrated experience drafting appraisal and expert reports.
  • Experience supporting business valuation or financial expert-witness engagements in litigation; familiarity with Utah litigation matters is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Position Details:

  • This is a full-time, salaried position.
  • We would prefer an in-office candidate in Salt Lake City, UT, but will consider hybrid or remote roles for certain candidates.
